It's the same group of people who wins everytime. Personally I think those "group of people" are not yet willing to let go of their political powers. So everytime when a opposition comes to challenge their place, they would probably be on the news for a couple of days and then dissappear as though nothing happened. Half the time I think the whole election is rigged and everything is just a charade to spice up tv ratings. :?
True, the PAP is unwilling to relent power. And the opposition does not get much coverage, considering how tightly they control Singapore's media.
But seriously, if you give consideration to why they continue winning, you would realise that they have done a splendid job with Singapore. Of course, it is not perfect, nothing is. But you really cannot deny the magnificient job the PAP has done ever since Singapore attained her sovereignty.
No doubt, I would enjoy seeing some competition, some serious contenders. It would probably result in the PAP upping their ante to meet head-on with the challengers.
But whenever I look at the Workers' Party or whoever else, I simply cannot picture them at the helm, leading our nation.
But mind, that is merely my humble opinion.
All in all, from a personal point of view, I would root for the competition.
But on a more logical, long-term viewpoint for our nation, it is still the PAP for me.
