The only coloured coated strings I know of are DR strings. Davis brings them in... I'm not sure of the price but it is most likely between $15-20 per pack, most coated strings are in this price range.

there's aurora strings at davis too.. cheaper abit but don't last nearly as long...don't sound all that good on my guitar too

firstly, since youre already planning to head down to davis, why waste time asking for price and brands when u will get to see it firsthand and decide which ones u want? secondly, peni sula? bwahahahahaha.

why color strings man?
Hmmm...
They are really not too good imo...
Get the normal coated ones. Plain jane's but does its job well.

DR's sound too dark IMO... Auroras are better in terms of sound. and even if the colour flakes off, the string life isnt affected. but yeah, like what junkiemanxl said, the plain ones are good.. unless u really like the colours.

cause i do. that's why i use them almost exclusively. =D

u want coated strings? get the ernie ball coated slinkys.

No fanciful colours but tone hardly runs as compared to the other brands.

DR lasts but the colour peels and the tone runs. Quite disgusting IMO,

Strings are for your tone. If you have colourful strings but sound disgusting i think its rather pointless.

I feel that noncoated strings are the way to go.

For me i use ghs boomers. Non coated, short lifespan but great tone.

haha, using auroras now. They are the best strings i ever used compared with Dr,ernie ball super slinky and Everly.Nice fat sound.Anw thx to everyone,i kind of think the colour is cool so.........sticking to coloured coated strings. They cheaper than normal strings as they last longer

^ like what superpotato_30 said.. it is very gross when the coating falls off and the strings get rusty...

and may i know what colour-coated strings are cheaper than normal one?

The boomers i find the highs on the strings are rather artificial. As in its bright but not natural kind.

D'addarios and ernie balls have the most natural feel and tone from the lot. Easy to play too (due to the tension they use). Just that the short lifespan of both are rathe irksome but if i had to change strings every gig i would use either brand.

Yup. I love the tone and playability of Ernie Balls and D'addarios.

For my most recent acoustic performance (which was in July), I intended to change strings but instead I stuck with my 3-month old D'addarios. I wipe my strings a lot, so maybe that helps. Didn't have problems throughout the performance. Strings sounded and played great, weren't overly discoloured, never went out of tune. And my guitar isn't a high-end one with superb tuners either. Those strings are still on my guitar and I still use it a lot!

i had bad experiences with those aurora's. I swear i will never pick them up again.
I'm using EB titanium on all my guitars now. They are pretty good compared to other coated strings i have tried. Last pretty long and the tone stays in tact. price wise around $15. And it's pretty cheap compared to some other brands that offer coated strings as well.

i do have coated strings in a few of my guitars time & again. i'm still with DRs...
