coated or clear drumskins?

[struggling_newbie]

I have only a coated drumskin for my snare and clear skins for all the toms. I saw DVDs like dennis chambers and some other drummers w/ coated skins on all toms and snares. but then do they have differences? will the attack be the same? how will the sound be like? i think it definately look nicer with all coated skins but more $$$!! 8O 8O peace, oh and does it depend on the music styles??

hey man wat kinda snare u got?
if u got a wooden snare i've been told ambassadors are the way to go. if u got a real pingy tyep metal snare get a double headed one

I've heard that coated drum heads warms the sound, meaning they reduce the articulation of the drum. But i've never compared them side by side so I can't say for sure.
