eh guys. i leave my cables like just on my table and if i leave them for too long, they will have this cloudy cloudy thingy form on the input jackheads or something. is that what u call it?

the silver thingy... will it "spoil" the cable somehow? cause i tried using tissue paper wipe off, like abit hard. can come off partially only. mmm

That question should ask mikeman.
But if it sounds ok, should be able to use. Unless your ears tells you the cable is gone case.

hmm... just *lightly* clean it off with WD40.

the cloudy thing doesn't harm ur cable.. just makes the cable less conductive because of the extra layer.

then if er... plug into the pedals.. with that cloudy thingy on it. will it spoil the pedals? or even the guitars?

It's called oxidation. In the audiophile world this will cause signal degration, but for electric guitar, since distortion is already some form of signal degration, and any of these things can be accustomed to tone or colouring, it doesn't really matter. Not like you can make out any difference anyway.

And no, it will not spoil your stuff. It's not a virus.
