Use #0000 (superfine) steel grade wools and rub it along the frets. Remember to isolate the frets with tape so that you do not damage your fretboard.

Steel wools can be found at most paint or hardware stores i believe.

pathein: is there like a bottle of fret polish or something that you're supposed to use with that? otherwise it looks like a glorified cloth :S

I clean my guitar with a cloth everytime after i play.

But serious cleaning on the frets and fretboard only when i change strings.

I use Brasso along with a DIY protector for the fingerboard. Just take a thin piece of plastic, like those of a file or something, cut some slits for the frets.

Works like a charm, but be careful not to get any on the fingerboard.

If you're willing to spend some money just get the dunlop guitar care stuff, at least you won't have to risk experimenting with other things. I use the fretboard care kit and it works like a charm

its sold separately as well. If not, it will come with the 01/02 or the other 65/66 cleaner as well, but only one piece.

The pack sold separately contain 4 pieces. It look like cloth, feel like cloth, but it does really helps in restoring the shine on the fret.

This is actually a very fine sanding cloth. Probably it's sanding grid is 6500 grade (I would think so, or I maybe wrong). It actually removes a fine layer from yr fret wire and looks as though it has been polished and the more you use it on the frets you are actually wearing out the frets.

Autosol is quite similar too accept it's in a form of a cream. I feel Brasso is best and less harmless cos it's in liquid form, only thing is use it carefully, not to get it on the fingerboard.

I will not touch steel wool.
