Nefianz just go and try la City Music people are really nice. Look at the catalog to find some in your price and then go there to whack.
Personally, I would avoid Ovations with the acrylic rounded backs. Sounds really bad and plasticky with the stock pickup.
The Echotone is a good buy, exact copy of the Epiphone Dot (Hamer used to make Epiphone guitars) Owned one before and when A/B-ed against a Dot, there was barely any difference. But I do recall it was cheaper last year.
The other Hamer guitars though ... very good guitars for the price!

imo its not a good device
i) super poor speakers
ii)guitar lead track extraction (GXT) uses a frequency cancellation system and so cannot work around tricky situations like unison solos,and will cut out rythmns also if they are played in the higher registers. will also cut out other instruments. real flawed imo.
did not try through headphones though, but the modulations were pretty good.
