Chord Progression

A chord progression (also chord sequence and harmonic progression or sequence), as its name implies, is a series of chords played in order

EG> G TO C TO D

Chord progression is a series of chords played in a song. It does NOT have to be played in any particular order (the order of chords is mainly up to the songwriter's preference).

First, the key you are playing in has to be determined. For example, you choose the key C major. The C major scale has a total of 7 different keys: C D E F G A B.

You can form various chords using these 7 different keys in C major. These chords formed from the C major scale keys can be used as chords in a C major chord progression.
