Guys!is there any distortion pedal or any pedal that is modded that has a clean lead sound and still has enough gain and sustain.Maybe like john petrucci's lead or john5??something like that.warm, not sharp or messy...??or is it just a tweaking part??pls enlighten me...!!!!I play from church music to rock. Not so much of metal...

tone

do u mean, like richie kotzen's tone?
i think maybe an ibanez tubescreamer will do the job well..

im looking for the tone also, but the thing is,
im not using analogues, im using a gt8..
im still trying to figure out how to obtain a tubescreamer sound still..

anyone uses a boss gt8 as well?

Easy. Buy a tubescreamer (or whatever regular or boutique overdrive pedal of your choice - I'd personally pick the Hardwire CT-2 Tube Overdrive over any TS808, TS9 or whatever modded variant of a tubescreamer), and just put it in the effects loop of the GT-8. I'm quite sure you'd find that more accurate than trying to tweak the drives of the GT-8 to something akin to a tubescreamer.

Clean lead sound - Get a clean good amp.

Distortion - Hardwire Metal Distortion (buy overseas please, its cheaper), Sansamp GT2, Openhaus. I find modeling's distortion to generally lack clarity and they don't clean up much.

will vox vt 50 do the job??i might be getting that amp...or get vox ac models??hmmm....btw the digitech distortion sounds good!!!hahahaha!!
