hey guys any other cheap strats recommendations best with an alder body other than the craftsman one? the timbre one seems to be out of stock :(

Well you can wait for it............i find it to be one of the best cheap strats out there. I'm sure it won't take more than a week.

mim fenders...2nd hand. either that or the swing strats. other than that u gotta wait for the timbre to come back in stock lol

HUH? Serious boh? Wow............that's a VERY long time. Are you in a rush to get it? If so then i think saving up for a Swing would be a good option.

SMASH S1- highly recommended.

When considering playability and overall tone, the Smash sits above Craftsman and SX in my OPINION only.
Stagg guitars are not so bad as well. But consider Smash if you want sweet tone.

The Smash is also more versatile, pickups-wise. It has a humbucker and two singlecoils. A traditional strat copy tends to only have singlecoil pickups.

Oops, thought he was referring to the one he has (with natural finish). My bad... :p

SX is a good choice too. Not sure why they don't have a good reputation here, but there are lots of folks on Youtube who own SX guitars and absolutely love them... Haven't tried an SX strat copy before, but I tried an SX Jazz bass copy before and it was a very nice bass for the money. So SX scores a point too in my book. :)

The HSS natural finish model sounds great when I tried it, but I dislike the unfinished yet glossy look. Plus I prefer a more ordinary SSS combination.

But TS go ahead and try the different models at SV. If you like in the North head to the Woodlands branch, you'll usually get more playing time there as it won't be as crowded as the Penin outlet.
