Samicks are good, but only the pre-Greg Bennett Samicks are copies. The new Samick Greg Bennett guitars are more or less original designs. Both are good, though.

Cort & Samick are also overlooked brand names, they offer good quality instruments. i think we are too distracted by the flavour of the moment. that's always been the case, isn't it?

Agreed. There are so many brands and makes these days offering good quality and often, good value for money as well. Problem with recommendation threads is that there'll probably end up so many recommendations that it can become stressful for the thread-starter.

I really liked my friends post-Greg Benett strat copy. Reaaaally nice for it's price

But nothing beats a real MIA Fender lah...............i've seen some copies that sound good, are value-for-money, but none of them can match the tone of a authentic MIA Fender...........yeah i'm a tone purist but i don't deny that there are many good copies out there that suit the variegated tastes of the numerous musicians in this world. Another less known brand that offers good quality instruments is Washburn, haven't heard of it in awhile.
