Cheap place for minor guitar repair?

Hi,

My sister was given a cheapo (some generic Asian brand) classical guitar which she hopes to learn to play. Upon looking at it, though, I noticed that there is a crack at the joint where the neck joins the body. It looks like the tension of the bass strings is exerting an excessive pull on that side of the neck, causing the neck to break away from the body.

It looks like something that should be fixable with some gluing, but I don't know anything about guitar repair, so I'd really like to take it to an expert if possible. Can anyone recommend a good place here in S'pore where I might be able to get a repair job like this done quickly and cheaply? Given the low quality of the instrument, it wouldn't be cost effective if we had to pay a lot of money to fix it.

Or would it be wise for me to attempt to fix something like this myself?

Thanks!

hello, if i were you, i would rather buy a new cheap acoustic guitar. sell the old one and save a little extra to buy at least a decent brand. and ensure that everythings okay. thats what I would do...

A crack where the neck meets the body is a serious problem requiring a dificult and costly repair. Better to get another guitar and check this one out properly before buying.

cheers,

mark.
