the yamaha aint no bass drum, buddy. as marc said, it's a marching snare. check out the pink cabinet thing, a regular bass drum would dwarf that.

the white ones are ludwig too if i'm not wrong. the badges on it look like the ludwig badges of the mid-60s or 80s onwards.

eric, are the whites 12" and 13" toms?

i know the karang guni man.

his name is dennis and he has a shop in burlington square. actually he used to put up a 'stall' at clarke quay. he had a drumset there and sometimes random uncles gather there and play rojak-getai music.

i remember when he used to drive his van to my secondary school, then me and my drum major would go 'shopping' for stuffs. he was younger then (of course) but still looks about the same now.

when i paid a visit to his burlington shop, i told him i remembered him when i was a kid. he seemed quite happy, esp when i told him i still play the instruments i learnt in school, but now grow up already so also teach younger kids.

i think in the course of bargaining RD bro may have made him feel a little scarded... maybe cos pple sometimes overbargain wif him then he get suspicious and think always trying to take advantage of him.

i want to talk to him and let him know in the hopes that we can turn it into a win-win situation.

he has a lot of stuff he may never be able to sort out or sell meaningfully and fair price.

if can talk to him and establish some sort of trust, maybe we (soft drum xchange) can help him sort out and also buy from him at fair price.

definition of 'fair' price, of course, is a price where both buyer and seller feel satisfied.

i will call and talk to him, maybe later this week.

update u guys again.

heh, i think fuman and i mentioned the clarke quay place earlier in the thread too! i only remember seeing symphonic band instruments though, maybe cos i used to play for my school's symphonic band. stupid place got revamped. imagine if he was still hanging out at clarke quay, so near MOS. hip!
