Chapman Sticks in Singapore.

Alright, so I was just wondering. Anybody really actually use this thing in our little red dot? It's an epic instrument really, and I want to save up to get one. But just wondering about general popularity here.

For those who are unaware; Link.
And also, this guy

John myung used the chapman in the six degrees album, and images I think, but Tony levin takes playing the chapman to a whole new level.

i admire and respect the instrument itself.

i just dont like the awkward way it has to be mounted on the body

makes the player very much resemble a prehistoric warrior....

Yep. Aquanaut was the 1st one to use the chapman years ago if i remember correctly. And he was good at it too. Now you guys got me thinking...........

Now why is that a bad thing >: D

well i noticed that for guys with big chest muscles (or indeed... man boobs in some cases), it can be damn uncomfortable.

for women, it is impossible to mount.

however, if i do own one, i will replace it with an ordinary instrument strap, but attach a 1kg weight onto the strap so the stick doesnt do the "nose-heavy" dive when you take your hands off the neck.

it's what i did to my guitar. a 1kg weight to the strap so the weight is balanced.
