Hi, I've been playing guitar for about awhile now and I wanna change to thicker strings. I think the strings i'm using the thinnest(0.08?) and I would just like to ask do I have to make any adjustments when changing to thicker strings for a lespaul cause I know that alot of adjustments have to be made for one with a floating bridge. Thank you!

not to digress from this thread as I feel my question can contribute to this too rather than opening a new thread,

what are the default string gauges for a epiphone les paul? I am wanting to change but not sure what to change to without having to set up the guitar... thanks

should be 10s.

I use to string my Epi Les Paul Custom with the Zakk Wylde set, 11-60s or even 70s. Did it around the tailpiece style. Caused untold nut damage, neck wrappage and fret wear.

Till today, it sits quietly in a hardcase because of the abuse. Yet to raise funds for a refurbishment.

hehe they should have shipped it from Korea with a letter saying

"To all Mr. Zakk Wylde Fans,

Thank you for purchasing your new Epiphone Les Paul Custom! If your a devotee of the brutallic picking of Mr. Zakk Wylde, please be informed that an Epiphone cannot tahan what a 80s Gibson Les Paul can do.

Thank you and rock on!
Epiphone"
