Changing SSS to HSS

anyone know where I can convert my Fender SSS Strat to HSS?
how much would it probably cost?
not intending to change to hum-cancelling single coils as it lacks the fat tone of a full size humbucker.
Need help guys.
Thanks in advance

First you gotta check if the routing is HSH or HSS compatible,

1. get a HSS pickguard ( second hand ones aplenty at GC- GUITAR CONNECTION at peninsular)- SGD 25-SGD 40
2. Get humbuckers ( Seymour duncan ones start at SGD99 if I'm not wrong , from Davis-peninsular)
3. Get your trusted tech to install the pickups (GC also can) , (SGD 50 onwards?)

Optional, you may wanna change the tone ports or what not too, but that may cost extra depending on ur tech.

Hope this helps,

Cheers

Have you considered the Duncan line of single-coil sized humbuckers? I've had good experiences with the JB Jr, and I've heard that the Lil '59 and Cool Rails are pretty good as well.

I managed to get pretty heavy chugging sounds from a Strat + JB Jr + Cube 30X.

If you want a full sized humbucker in the bridge, you will have to route out the cavity (if it isn't already routed for one) and get a new pickguard, both of which would amount to quite a fair bit of change.

My suggestion is to get the JB Jr ($99 at Davis), and get TYMC to install it for you on the spot (probably not more than $20-30).
