Changing Pickups. Help.

Hey my first post here and need some help.

I'm using a SSS bullet strat and i'm thinking about changing it to a HSH combo. My main influences are punk, rock and a little bit of metal.

I'm changing my bridge pickup to a SD invader(for punk and rock stuff), but not sure what the other 2 should be. Any recommendations?

Also, i need to know where i can get these done? Like changing from 3 single coils to a H-S-H, together with the installation of pickups. And maybe the price range? Don't wanna get cheated. Haha.

I've played around with pedals for some time already, figured it's time to change my pickups.:)

hmm,

im not too sure if you can put a humbucker pickup in a strat that already has a SSS combo, since the body and the pickguard already has the pickup area cut for a single pickup,

but why dont you try those single-coil size humbuckers, like seymour duncan hotrails or coolrails?

hmm i tink that changing to a whole new body would be more worth it than digging a proper cavity for the humbucker

I think it would be more worth it if you got another HSH guitar, changing the body would make a whole lot of difference, might or might not achieve the desired results.

check body rout if it would take H/s/h CONFIG ...i THINK IT DOES... but bestto check 1st

How do i check? the guitar i'm using is a squier bullet strat. Is there any shops that offer these kindda service? Or anyone in this forum have done it before?

Thanks for the help. I'm really noob at pickups.:???:

Take the pickguard out and check for H/S/H routing.

I think your better off getting a better guitar (regardless whether it already already came H/S/H stock or not), but thats my opinion.

Thanks for the help. Much appreciated.:)

I'll take the pickguard out later, just had my strings replaced one week ago.
Anyway, i read in the other topic about Beez. I'll give him a call to see if he offers this kind of setups.

Hmm..had a peek inside. Seems to me like a H-S-S. Any chance i can change the neck position to a humbucker?

I know it's much easier to just get a new guitar, but i'm hoping to make this like a project guitar. So hope you guys would understand. Cheers.

The humbucker in the bridge is more important than the neck.

Ever heard someone saying they need a neck humbucker for rock/punk/metal?

Its usually the bridge that is most fussed over...

You can get a single coil sized humbucker for the neck - you're not missing out much. There are plenty of metal/rock players who use a neck single coil. Andy Timmons, Ron Thal come to mind.

I like the kind of mellow tone with humbucker at the neck position. Great for solos.

Just went to Seymour Duncan's website to find out more about the single coil humbuckers, any recommendation from peeps over here?
