changing mobile phones

hello everyone. i do hope i'm in the right section. my mobile phone plan expires next month, and i'm thinking of getting a new mobile phone. i looked at sony ericsson website coz the music player and audio is much better than nokia's(my bro got a new phone, W595), and i saw 3 i liked. i liked W980 the best, but my bro and dad checked at starhub and the price for the phone was $468! the other 2 phones i liked were W595(my bro's) and the W760i. so here i am, i need your opinion on which phone you would choose out of these 3, or just gimme a review of the phone if you happen to own any of these.

also i have a question lol my mobile contract expires next month and i dunno what to do about it! my bro's contract ended this month, the mobile service provider was m1, and he checked with them and was told that he had to call their hotline to cancel his line to end it, or thats what he told me. my mobile service provider is singtel, can anyone tell me what to do about the expiring contract? how do i check the date and yada yada, i tried calling their hotline but their answering machine is totally whack lol. i dun geddit what their machine is saying anyway lol. so thanks!

i recently sold my w980 to trade for cash. $520 as of now.

the person i sold to say now singtel have good deals.

m1 bad deals. he ask me not to recontract m1 for the moment.

singtel best profit would be iphone.

as for the w980, i wouldn't know anything because i sold it

nah my dad wan me change to starhub, coz now my whole family de mobile service provider is starhub, except for me. all the line is under my dad's name, but the number is my family members use one. i think this way the plan billing will cheaper. why u sell ur phone though?

I used to own a K800i and I thought that
the camera was good back then... Soon
after I switched to Nokia N82 and I have
never looked back! The camera's fanastic
and the stock earphones handles music
very well. Best non PDA phone I've used!

Think the W760i is the best option judging
purely from its specs. But W980 would be
a good choice if you don't need so much
functionality. Hope this helps

Can't say much about phones. I chose Singtel because of its strong reception. Able to send messages in lecture theatres while pitying my M1/Starhub friends who had zero receptions =x

IMO,
Singtel: Most expensive, but best reception
M1: Middle in both.
Starhub: Cheapest plans + handset but poor reception, sometimes even in open area =/

yeah starhub has poor reception, my bro's new phone always goes on and off. W760i good ah? i still prefer W980. i asked the same thing at stomp talkback forums, see what this guy said

I am currently using W760i. It's pretty good, but one gripe I have about it is that it's laggy. When I'm playing music it'll stop every now and then, and the phone will like hang for about 1 second? Also, when you're playing music in the background (with the player open) and smsing, it is laggy in that the screen lags, but if you type fast it will all appear at the end. however, when i sms normally, every now and then will also lag, and as such won't register the key press, so i have to press again... makes my typing kinda slow. i also don't see the point of the shake, since when i hold the volume down key, it will change song...

the bottom piece in the front is a separate piece, and is glued there i think. It's coming off. and also the band behind.

one thing good about the w760i is that it has some nice animations, which my old SE phone did not have, but then i think it's making the phone laggy, and i can't find where to switch it off.

W760i doesn't have a good camera. That's all I remembered about it before mine was stolen.

get starhub. their bundles are good, espacially at roadshows. they also have hubber's bonus. so extra price slashes too.

i think nokia would be a better deal. sony ericssons are not bad. but nokia i think is more stable for the time being.

Nokia is still more user-friendly, but their really good models are all very ex. I noticed that the cheaper models all tend to have a flaw in someway or another. Not just the interior but as in the design and all that as well

Sony Ericcson at least got the design part right. Functions... er...

Nokia stable? Not when my 5610 keep stopping my music player randomly or my previous N80 giving me headaches like phone restarts, or not receiving SMSes.

I can only say, Nokia is the most user-friendly based on opinions around me.

For that small letters with XXX trade-ins, they wan trick ppl mah, make business. Thats why brochures must read carefully, if not go their shop or what liao make you disappointed only.

but starhub the reception is really like shit laiddat. yesterday i use my bro phone to listen walkman, the reception more than half the time like nothing laiddat, my old nokia using singtel sim card, its always strong, even when my bro got nothing. hubber bonus is the what? my dad say the bill can slash price or something. i only sec 4, this kinda stuff is my dad do one, i just do some extra digging only

Nokia is a not recomended phone to me because it gets out of the pic easily, everytime come out new model.

Well, Starhub have attractive deals, but that's to make up for serouisly poor quality of reception. I never changed from Singtel because of the reception. Still the best around
