Cause of Acoustic Guitar Warping/Crack??

Hi Guys & Gals,

I have a 6 mth old full solid acoustic guitar (purchased new) and just realised tat it's beginning to show some serious warping on the top and back and found a crack at the corner during inspection... Would like to ask experienced brothers n sisters here if the weather is so bad in Singapore that full solid guitars will have such symptoms?? (guitar kept all the time in the living room on a guitar stand way out of the sunlight) OR is it due to other problems??

Refer to the pictures that I tried to take (apparently warping is darn difficult to capture so i circled the areas  ). Click on the pictures to enlarge.

Can be seen especially at the sound hole where the top and bottom spacing is obvious. Right part is warped outwards.

Left part is warped outwards

Where the crack is showing at the cutout at the back of the guitar

Took picture through the sound hole of the back where the warped part has a gap

the other side is OK

Thanks in advance for any input! :D

After looking at the photos, I highly suspect it's due more to poor workmanship than humidity. I've seen many solid-top/full-solid guitars bulge, but none to the extend of actually cracking. And they usually just bulge slightly, and commonly at the belly, sometimes loose-bracings/shoddy workmanship coupled with the humidity here can yield such disasters.

I'm curious as to what brand and what model too.

I concur with Phil. Bulging top is likely due to humidity. Assuming your guitar was built in an environment of RH level 45 to 50%, once such guitars get to Singapore, the high RH climate with take its toll on these guitars.

As for the cut-away part that has dislodged kerfling, it is likely due to insufficient glue or curing time. Such things are related to craftsmanship. Dislodging of back braces can be due to the same reasons as the cut-away part. While the local RH is high, but it is not high enough to dislodge kerlfing and braces within 6 months.

sorry guys for the late reply... this forum din give me notifications and i got my answers in guitar4christ too.
