Its your boosty at work Goose. Seriously. There was no mixdown eq-ing or effects added.
The palmer DI box has a speaker sim with only 3 modes, normal, warm and bright. I used bright but its still quite dull sounding - but much better than the TRI OD's speaker sim.
The Boosty helps A LOT and the tone after its eq-ing does NOT sound compressed or boxed, it actually opens up even more.
Gear helps. Thanks for the great pedal.

Haha.. perhaps perhaps perhaps (<-- nice song by Cake btw) I will... been bitten by the composition bug these few days. Churning out a lot of ideas and misc. stuff... stopped practicing for a while, just composition and recording.

It might be interesting note, the 2nd chorus, the one in the middle with the repeated theme... that huge sounding tone is from....

Absolutely love it...Im outta the mattias phase for now..but still...i love the mix..and the tone...exellent work...refreshing to hear such professional work...
btw...have you tried Goose's OD-rapture i think....its absolutely amazing...one of the coolest ods ive ever heard...reminds me of scott henderson...wish i had funds...i need to get the citrus and the rapture someday...thank god i havent tried the boosty.. :lol:

I don't really know. I sat down to practice some scalic exercises, then was taking a break when I just hammered out the chorus chords - that thrice repeated rhythm theme. From there, it just flowed into this after about 2 1/2 hours...
Its still a "doodle" to me because I didn't bother to come up with a more complete song structure, like the arps which Nanoshred mentioned.. and it could be a little longer with more variety for the chorus.
