Casino Royale- finally a tasteful Bond movie...?

anyone caught this movie yet?

i'm not a bond fan but Casino Royale is a good movie per se. more importantly, the Bond here is less wimpy, more action packed, more intelligent- Casino Royale is what Batman Returns did to the Batman series.

neway, i was never a fan of Bond and all that over the top bullshit...didnt make sense to me that a spy would be so extroverted...

but Casino Royale has made me interested in the franchise...simply put, this is not our father's Bond..this feels more real and believable... 8)

To me I think the previous Bond films were better. I found this Bond to be less action packed and most of the exciting parts was channelled to the Casino match between Bond and the Croatian villian.

If one were to talk about twists in this film , it certainly has more twists and turns as compared to previous Bond films.

i think the action was great...it was more real...the plot was more realistic too..a good way to restart a cliched franchise

the bond ass so high profiled..still can become spy...damn it..

but den again...its juz movie..talking abt realism..

bollywood comes to mind..most of their shows...are TOTALLY UNREALISTIC!!

I beg to differ...

Put Casino Royale (CR) side by side with all previous Bond movies, CR is severly lacking in action and "dangerous" scenes. While it was a fresh change to the entire Bond scene, it was surely overhyped and it looked like "just another action film" instead of the Bond experience.

Actors wise, Daniel Craig does not project the kind of Bond presence Sean Connery and Pierce Brosnan has on screen. It's a pathetic attempt to make a wimpy man become the super agent. Imagine you cast Stephen Chow as Superman or Spiderman... that's what I feel about CR.

Tasteful? No, I find it tasteless.

i dont like daniel craig. he doesnt do justice to the bond name at all. and i didnt like the movie either. for some reason it didnt engage me like the few previous bond films ive watched. oh and did anyone notice the last part when there was making out scene after scene? :lol:

the only part i liked was the opening chase scene, feat. one of the pioneers of parkour, Sebastien Foucan. quite impressive wasnt it? 8)
