Canto or Mando pop Music

My Chinese is so bad. Its understandable why pretty much everything I listen to is English songs. I like mostly rock, metal, blues, some jazz, electronica, everything under the sun but most mando / canto doesn't appeal to me. Like Hydrofly says, too sappy or upbeat. Well, its my personal tastes and his personal tastes.

That said, I do listen to some Asian stuff too, but its mostly Japanese rock (Dir En Grey, X-Japan, Loudness), Taiwanese metal (ChThoniC), and perhaps some Beyond as well. But that's it for me, most canto and mando pop songs just don't appeal to me.

I came from an english speaking home, so my chinese... well you know :p
So all I listen to is english songs. (and some jap ones that sound good)

Haha... I used to like pop stuff, but now I'm into rock more as pop and most other stuff is abit too soft and light sounding for me, though I don't really like metal either, cos the amounts of distortion usually used are abit too much for me... I guess I'm the in between of pop and metal lol:mrgreen:

PUNK ROCKER!

I like the chinese indie scene, especially the taiwanese artists. stuff like cheer chen, deserts xuan, cao fang, my little airport. They have a great underground scene for bands too. carsick cars, wangwen, we save strawberries, 8mm sky, bad daughter, pk 14, the pancakes, freckle etc. Also the malaysian chinese indie scene is pretty good i heard.

Yeah. Taiwan has a rather vibrant indie band scene. It is just that we don't get to know about it because Sg tv and radio doesn't show/play any of the stuff. The indie rock festivals in Taiwan are really happening. Successful Taiwan artistes and bands like Cheer Chen, Sodagreen, Tizzybac and all started that way. :)
