Hey guys. Sry , have a qns

Monitor cables 1/4" balanced.

Can mic cables 1/4" be used fir monitor cables? Monitors are powered/active.

Just curious are there any differences between both balanced cables? In the market there are some for mic some for monitors.

A balanced signal can be sent by both balanced TRS 1/4" cable and mic cable. Both are balanced cables. No, there is no difference. That's why you can use the same wire for both mic and balanced TRS and create XLR to TRS cables with no problem.

Of course, usually TRS is used for line level signals while XLR is used for mic level signals. But that's probably just a convention. As long as the cable can carry the line level voltage for the powered monitor, then it should be all good.

Oh. In that case am I safe to say there will not be any differences to the audio if I use mic cables for the speaker ones?

I read online where some says that mic cables are shielded due to them being more prone to ground noises and trs line cables are shielded from power cords nearby. Grd hum etc.

Thanks for the reply anyway!

Balance line in a way reject noise by electronic mean.
Additional shield just add other rejection by electrical mean.
