can car speaker be use for guitar?

hey guys.... juz wanna check out... can car speaker use for guitar amps? cuz i wanna build a cab.. is a waste if i juz store it at my store room rather than fixing it and play it... but i duno if it is possible to be use in guitar... and wad precaution should i take note? need u guys suggession!! thx in advance!! cheers....

well as long as you can hot wire it you would need somesorta preamp or electronics board but id bet the quality would not be that great

No problems. You can wire them in an array to get the correct impedance. I'd do a closed cabinet and run them with an amp modeler.

There is a ghetto one here but I reckon it would resonate and buzz in all the wrong ways...

hm..thx for ur reply guys... hmmm... do i need to like add a resistor or sth attached to the wire that needed to be conected to the jack? as in the input n out put jack there...

you need to match the amp. Near the speaker terminals of your amp there will be a label...4 ohm, 8 ohm or 16 ohm.

Car stereo speakers are 4 ohm. If you amp is 4 ohm just wire up one speaker.

You can also wire 2 lots of 2 in series then connect these in parallel. This will give you 4 ohms with 4 speakers.

If your amp is 8 ohm, wire up two speakers in series

Read up on adding resistors in series and parallel if any of this doesn't make sense.

surely can.just did that.but u need an amp 2 amplified ur gtr signal.a cheap battery operated amp is like RUBY or Noisy Cricket.either 1 is loud enuff 4 bedroom.
