Campus Superstar is back again.. Some of you might say this show is better or that show is better.. But i think that's one of the only platform for us Singaporeans to gain experience and hone our singing talent! Anyway i think i'm going for it, but probably just to gain some experience in life. probably wouldn't get through anyway.. haha :D

Details are here! http://css2009.mediacorptv.sg/

Just wonder if any softies are interested la.. incase your don't know. if want to meet up on that day and register together i'm okay with it too! cheers!

"... only platform for us Singaporeans to gain experience ..."

something is wrong with that sentence..I only see a Chinese-oriented talent platform. Correct me if i'm wrong.

Well, it's pretty good exposure if you can make it to at least the top 20 or something. You get to do all sorts of cool stuff like MVs!

Ya, any SOFTies taking part must let us know. We make big big banners to support you!

* let me move this to the competition section.

haha its good to see such heartwarming responses so far.. thanks man. guess i'll try my best but still contemplating whether to go into the finals even if given the chances too! but well i think i'll just go for it to see how first. might not even get the chance haha.

so anyone else joining! :D:D

Oh man, I wish I was still in campus. My friend came in 2nd in the 1st CSS. Yes Travisser, we'll support u. GO GO!! JIA YOU!! Haha..

... 'ONLY PLATFORM...?'...we don't wanna say it outloud but i cant help replying...haa... i think these kinda competitons is ****~ jus lyk the 'others' ( u got wad i meant...) i believe those 'true' musicians mostly came frm the underground scene. passionate and talented abt their music. and working hard frm the bottom. building their rep and loyal fans who truely appreciates their music. rather than joining into some gimmicky Television competitions , be a one hit wonder, shoot a mv/be a commericial music artiste/be a drama actor/actress. and be appuladed for their bad music. and i dun wanna go into the topic of commercialism. it's a unavoidable existance.though nt entirely desirable.

ups for the 'real' musicians out there who defy commercialism!

"True" musicians? The last time I checked a musician is someone who plays music, I'm pretty sure they do. You are very narrow-minded. To stereotype everybody who takes part in these types of competitions as not passionate about their music is just stupid, I bet most, if not all of them love music. As much as I personally find how and what they do boring and predictable, I can see they are talented, they can sing well.
Your mindset is one of a 15-year old's, the entire "anything commercial is bad" thing. I just hope you grow up.

yea yea~ the truth hurts and no point going into flaming mood becos of this issue. there has been far too many~it's simply redundant. as long as the many 'real music appreciators' knows what i'm getting at. it's pretty enough~

ups for the real music anyways!

haha. not to diss u or anything glyph. but i for once joined Superband 2008. and my band was in the top 16. so i dun really noe where u are heading with the ''real' musician thingy. but what i can see is this. taken this from another perspective, this aint as bad as u claim it to be. i am proud to have joined the televised competition. cuz firstly the experience is indeed a memorable one. and it does share some life's exciting moments. but as for the music part. it is jus as much the same as those who are doing their 'real' music.

most importantly you must know where you are heading with this. so please state clearly on what you mean. hell, after doing the commercial music u spoke about. does that make me any different from a 'real' musician? i seriously dun think so. so sorry to be so blunt. be it commercial music or underground music. its still music, it takes a level of difficulty to achieve both in its finest form.

and to add up! does this mean addy rasidi/ addy cradle is not a 'real' musician too? since he is commercially involved in the malay music scene? and he is playing commercial music almost every night at pump room, that makes him not a 'real' musician. i dunno man. he has the rep and the loyal fans by exposing himself commercially and of course at the end of the day did the thing he did best. release an instrumental album here in spore recently. so you tell me...

and if you ditch commercial music thingy u spoke about, watch channel 8 this countdown. i am playing with San Yue. and we gave a brand new touch to a commercial song u spoke about. and tell me whats the diff between a 'real' musician'and a commercial musician.

No offense here.... i am just sharing my view. so if i kinda make u twitch.. i apologize.

P.S: i apologize for using addy's name. its just eg sake. so if i am in any trouble. do tell me! i will take it down!~thanks!!!!
