Callaham block for strat

42.25-43mm probably closer to 43 is what I got, does that sound right to you?

That's weird dimensions.

It should be 5.24 cm or 5.64 cm.

I know this is a very subjective question but which will sound better:

1.my mexi body with callaham bridge
2.highway 1 with zinc bridge

and highway 1 wood is similar to usa? I love the look of highway1 actually.

Well, the woods are quite similar. But I'm more of a sum of all parts person.
If you've got good tonewood, you've got good tonewood. What's your total budget to complete this project?

What look are you after? What tone? What neck shape? Maybe there is a finished guitar available to your specs that would cost less? Pre 05 HWYs are quite sort after.

The mexican body with the callaham bridge assembly will sound sweeter, but whether that's to everyone's liking is questionable. It isn't a 1 tone fits all situation.

ive come to a dilemma, because I have just a mex body with noiseless pus, but deciding whether to ditch the body altogether and go with H1. Also thinking about whether to get a wenge neck from warmoth(reverse CBS style) or USA neck from stratosphere. Damn decisions, just want to end the saga and play the damn thing haha. Btw if anyone knows whether stratosphere have decent gear, please let me know(I wonder why they part out so many seemingly good guitar parts>)

It depends on what mex body you have, there are some mex bodies with the larger string spacing.

Stratosphere has been parting out guitars for resale for years. And they do make a profit out of parting out good guitars. The parts alone could net them 10-15% extra from what the guitar cost them.

thanks mate, why pre 2005 if you dont mind me asking?

I'm being bias here, because I feel the 2 7/32 string spacing is more comfortable. The modern 2 1/16 is good too and I have an MIM in that spacing, but I feel that the vintage spacing more to my liking.

My only advice is try both, and use the one you prefer. But make sure you buy a bridge that fits.

mate you are a damn guru.

I dont want to spend more that 500-550$ including neck, tuners, and block. Probably stretching it a bit so yeh aim to get 600$ or less. Neck wise, I have extremely sweaty hands, I love american necks, very comfy as I use my thumb all the time. Someone told me to get a raw unfinished neck, which is why I thought of a warmoth wenge neck, around the same price as a finished maple neck(which is the tone I like) not sure if the tone will be similar though, but I like the sound of having a raw neck(tried a few and I think I will like it).

Sound wise, pretty much just maple with vintage sounding pickups, I like low output p/us. My 80s squier has that, absolutely beautiful when cranked hard.

I figured since i already have noiseless pus(not sure why I got these because I like feedback), I might as well get a neck and bridge to sort it all out. but was thinking to get different wood, as my piece is probably not too crash hot. So is the H1 strat 2-3 pieces of alder or blocks of wood like the mexi?

Cheers
