Buzz when recording with iMic

Hi all,

I'm new to recording with Garageband. I got a Macbook recently and was perturbed that it doesnt come with a mic-in port. So I was told to get a USB audio adapter - Griffin iMic. But after using it, I realised that there is an annoying buzzing sound even when I'm recording in a totally silent room.

Can someone please help?

Get a better mic to record, most prob the mic is picking up static from the surroundings. get a mixer and a mic, then connect ur mixer to the soundcard.
