hey guys i just bought a fender CIJ SSS recently. was excited of how it'll sound on my amp but turned out that there's an irritating buzz sound when i plugged it into my amp(clean). the thing is when i touch any metal parts linking to the amp the buzz is reduced. is there some earthing problems with the guitar? i dun think it's my amp coz when i plugged in my old fender 60th anniversary there's no buzz at all even when not in contact with any metal parts.

the seller told me it's SSS that's why it'll buzz. issit true? wad do you guys think? need some help here. thanks!

oh i changed my 60th ann bridge pickup to seymour duncan jb jr. hmmm. so it's the amp? but i use 3 pin plug for it. thought with that it should by right be grounded? :(

w/o proper grounding, audio equipments tend to have some hum. even with grounding, some still have hum, but less significant. and wht is proper grounding? i think there is a thread which teaches u how to ground ur amp by changing the 2 pin plug to 3 pin plug. anyway, doesnt mean that by using 3 pin plus means there is grounding. there must be a earth wire that eventually goes into the wall socket then there is grounding.

my first guitar also hss like urs, but no significant hum even though my amp is not properly grounded.

check ur grounding andd wiring before anything happens, hurry ....

BTW ur amp plug 2 pin or 3pn grounded?

omg that sounds scary! wad can happen? :(
yeah i use a 3 pin plug for my amp. i thought by right should be grounded coz of the earth wire.

60 cycle hum, typical of sss guitars.

Amp grounding problem, usually with 2 pin plug..

CHEAP A$$ CABLES, usually the problem.. People undermine the importance of quality cables, which causes the beez and the buzz and the hummmmmm!

oh yeah, i heard of stories of pple who did the wiring wrongly, such as connecting the live wire to neutral, or earth wire to live or something like that. and then the whole thing goes pooof... gone. those r just stories.

anyway, 3 pin plug doesnt mean it is grounded. scully u open up the plug u realise there is no earth wire, then it is as good as no grounding. but i think all 3 pin plugs should have earth wire, no?
