Hi Dear softies,
I need help to clarify with certain things. Would any kind souls please advise?

I recently came across a website which posted to sell a brand new Marshall DSL100 JCM2000 at USD500 which includes a 1960A cab.

Seems a little too cheap to believe, the latter tells me he has a shop in Taiwan and a head office in UK.

Check out his website.

This is the site i found on the web while inquring distributors here in SG.

I have emailed and talked to them, but seems a lil fishy.
Why would it go for USD500 and include a 1960 cab?

I even checked out their reissue gibson 1959 which goes for USD900 only?!

Please advise me!!
You can sms to me as well, thanks alot for reading and helping me out ><

If you're buying that, I've got a real mint condition, never been played 1959 Gibson Les Paul Standard Burst to let go of at a low low low low low price of USD$2,000.

And I'm also selling the Benjamin Sheares Bridge. PM me if interested.

imho, if you have been around music forums for a longer time, you will know that such sites and selling gear at that kinda of price are mostly spam and fake stuff usually.

If you dont have enough yet to get the real thing, either save up or get other cheaper alternative instrument. The world today is not as simple as they tell you their instrument has COA means its real, it can be easily replicated, just like university degree.

Dont say we didnt warn ya, you wanna pay peanuts, be prepared to get monkey(Quote from certain singapore political leader). Especially when its musical instrument concern. If you like to find out more, try using the search function and use it to find some of the older topics in the forum here regarding fake/replica music gear. Its been around for a while actually...

Bro thanks for your reply...
Its not that i dont have the money for the real thing...
Because i called davis they wouldnt reserve for me...I am doing night shifts cant get my ass down to their shop, offered to pay full then ask them to keep one week but they are reluctant...
Dont get it?

Thats why i went on to search online for Singapore dealers, where i came across this site.
I dont know the market rate for marshall tube amps.

i was ready to spend about 3k ><

any advise where else should i go to buy this DSL100?

For amps, i would think buying from the dealer locally is a better way to go. To buy online, you will have to factor in the weight and size of the item, which will prolly add another substantial amount to the overall cost in term of shipping and gst when it gets to the custom here.

I guess why they decline the reservation coz to be fair and also more practical in a buisiness sense to have someone down at their shop, pay money and get the amp. Heh, most prolly they gotten play out before from reserving gear for people, but ended up didnt get to selling it.

Davis the official dealer locally, unless theres other dealers which get their marshall either parallel import or thru davis as well, best to go is still davis i guess.

*facepalm*

Just go down when you are free, buy the amp on the spot, arrange delivery date to your house and end of story. Is that so hard?

Thanks for reading and giving replies.

But i think some of you didnt read properly esp 'dodgethis'
I think i did mention that because of my work i am unable to go down to the shop.
And i did mention that i will pay them the full amount, just ask them to keep the stock till i am free to collect.
Is that so hard? ><

PatheinRaindropMoe i know what you mean...but if i pay them full amount and arrange another day to pickup i think its definitely ok right? the thing is even if i paid full they couldnt keep for more than a week...-.-'

i think after import and custom gst still cheaper than the local dealer :S

Let's look back. You asked them to keep for you the amp for one week, after you've paid them the full amount. How long ago was this? Because in between that time and now, you would surely have had a free day to go down and buy it, since you said would be free within the week. So why didn't you go there directly and buy it and collect it? And let me say this, I highly doubt that DSL would move within the next month.

Import cheaper? Are you sureeeee? A brand new JVM410H in Davis was SGD1950 at it's peak here. Now it's SGD1650. As an example, let's use Musician's Friend. How much is JVM410H in MF? USD2,199 or SGD2,968. Let explain to you what this means. It means that after shipping, taxes and modification for local voltage, buying it from overseas will cost you more than twice what you can get it for in Singapore. You can go for EU webstores if you don't want to go down the transformer modification buttttt good luck with the insane taxes that most EU countries have.
