:confused:hey guys juz wanna ask you guyz whether any of you have ever bought a guitar online and ship it to singpore? which website are able to ship to singpore? I've seen alot of the website only able to ship their product within U.S region. thanks!!

yes +1 to ebay.. sometimes there are really good deals that come around. I bought a new guitar recently from one of the stores in ebay, great price! Saved $400 (including shipping) buying online than local stores here. but of course i'll miss out on the warrenty etc.

anyone here tried using vpost to ship guitars?
wanna know how much will shipping costs for an average sized electric guitars.

There's a lot of stores out there providing free shipping, so I'm kinda hoping using vpost does not add to much to the final cost.

+1 to ebay! I had a 86 Strat shipped in from the US for ~US$100 (shipping). But still saved money compared to what I would pay locally.. Plus ebay has a lot more choices..=)

Thing to note: i had to pay additional import tax cuz it was above a certain value. (GST i think?) so do remember to factor that in.

No experience shipping guitars via vPost, but stompbox wise, it's usually about $20: $7 shipping + $12 admin. Insurance is another $18 i think?

Happy hunting!

hahhaha. first he needs to sell his ZW EPI LP.
FREE ADVERTISEMENT FOR YOU. hahahah!
good luck in your sales
& getting the guitar in your mind. :D

Yup its any amount above $400, need to pay GST.. But some sellers have their ways to evade it, for the benefit of the customers..:)

are u sure zzound can ship to singapore i read at their website they don ship internationally except 50 region in U.S. is it save to buy guitar on ebay? btw thanks for replying

Ebay can be tricky.. but should be pretty safe. Especially if you pay via paypal. I think there are ways where you can get your money back if you don't get the right thing.

I should know, got Conned once on EBay but Paypal refunded me the money! look out to make sure the seller or buyer has plenty of positive feedback. Con / cheats tend to not have feedback ratings.

Get insurance on shipping as well. Helps to cover your goods on the road. Of course there is always the risk involved, nothing ventured nothing gained? ;) So it depends on you and your appetite for risk.

one more thing to note is never deal with ebay seller outside ebay. no matter how good the price they offer.

Almost definitely not worth it to ship over from USA, it will be at least 200-300 dollars including insurance.

If the guitar is a cheap guitar it's not worth it cos of shipping.

If it's expensive then it's a risk.

Best is to get your friend to bring it back for you. I hand carried mine on the plane.

Yep, I got burnt once.

Also, when shipping a guitar over, do consider the cost of GST as well, beyond just the cost of the guitar and shipping. It can be pretty hefty for expensive items.

ProGuitarShop does shipping internationally. USD100 for shipping seems to be a common denominator of sorts there.

I bought my Schecter C8 from them. Friendly people and easy to call to chat them up.

yeap. shipping from US is normally US$100+.... if you do a Vpost for an average 10+kg pack (guitar plus case in rectangular box) you could go up to $160 or so...

PLus GST if price is above S$400...

So you pay =
"Actual Price" + "Shipping: Vpost or not" + "GST: if price >S$400 no matter what post you use"

I do more shipping from US so more familiar =)
ONly shipped once from Japan, then again seller offered free shipping on Ebay so i don't noe the cost =)
