Buying from Japan (with restrictions)

Hi all,

Has anyone gotten a way to buying a guitar from an online Japanese website which does not ship overseas or reply in English?

Help much appreciated.

i believe u can seek help from http://www.byleft.net helps u import all the stuff u want to get overseas and help ship it to singapore. try them.. and if u do.. send my regards to terrence =) oh and btw there located at parklane shopping mall. five minutes walk away from dhoby ghaut mrt and just beside paradiz centre.. they are located on the third floor if im not wrong.Hope that helps.

You can get from ishibashi.
They do ship international.
I got my bass from there.
Just send them an email on what you want and they will get back to u.

work with japanese proxys. they help you to purchase stuff, and then ship it to you. i know a few trustable ones, but they are mostly for clothing pickups.

Hm, can anyone comment on the customer service and general experience when buying from Ishibashi? Are they a good choice where high end guitars like gibsons are concerned?

I don't think they are able to ship those Brand New Gibson to international.
Thats what they told me. Those USA made are not for export. Only MIJ can be ship out.
I'm not sure about Ubox. Maybe they can send those 2nd hand guitars in UBox.
Or is it only apply to Fender USA are not for export, and yes for Fender Japan.

try to email again, ive got one email from one of the ishibashi-sans saying that they cant ship fender japan and gibson out of japan, and another email a few hours later sealing the deal on a cij mustang.

so in other words, short of leaving the country and buying one, the only way we can get a Gibson is through our local dealers who have miserable inventory of these guitars? bleh.

Hi Mattleesc, have you tried out Sharp Service or gotten positive responses from other users? It looks pretty okay but I do want to be sure just in case.

I suspect Ishibashi's official policy is no shipping out of Fender Japan guitars overseas.

When I bought mine, they quoted me shipping for my bass is 10000yen which is about $130.
Then I ask if I get other Accessories will shipping cost more, then they said no extra cost.
So i got some straps, strings which here don't have all at 1 go.
But I not sure the shipping if u going to get 2 guitars.
You can always email them and ask.
They are quite friendly and will respond email with a day or 2.
Oh I forgot, i pay for 7% GST for the total cost.
