is it a must to have another guitar.since i luv my craftsman les paul copy...i felt that i got this 2nd thought on buying a new guitar.....i borrowed my fren ibanez guitar,i don feel the click is there, instead,i put aside the guitar and just play my own guitar.....any1 got any suggestion whether i need to buy a new guitar.
or any1 in soft.com has/use only 1 guitar all the while?

Well its ok to have a more than 1 guitar. U`ll have more options. For eg I will have 2 guitars with single coils on the 1st and humbuckers on the 2nd. They`ll give u a wide variety of sounds. Furthermore, if u sick of playing ur main guitar, I`ll switch to my 2nd and then suddenly fall in love with it and vice versa.

Good luck!

You gotta have as many guitars as you can afford! :)

No seriously - it is definitely beneficial to have more than 1 axe. Picking up a different guitar will give you a totally different feel and inspire you to create something new. For instance, I started playing my Martin acoustic yesterday after a long spell of it being in the cupboard. Immediately I came up with something new that I wouldn't have done on my electrics.

i used only one guitar all the while. reason? Not enough cash to buy another and feel that i m not good enough to get a better one. So its really up to u whether u feel the need for a different sound and another axe. As i feel i am not good enough, i shld focus on improving than looking for a different sound. However, i got do some research just in case the day comes when i wanna buy another axe.

Yeah- that's a sad fact of life. For years I only ever had 1 guitar at any one time because I could only afford that. You keep trying to find 1 guitar that will do it all and upgrading, changing, trying out new things.

hey dude...i've been playing e same guitar, an ibanez RG for e past 3 years or so...its so season that i am so use to it already...for now it allow me to explore lots of diff tone n plus with e use of effects etc..its good enuf.
But i always tot of getting a new gtr juz to have tat so called experimental thingy or sth..like onces i felt like getting a 2nd hand vantage gtr juz for fun to play n switch between my ibanez but then tat wild ideas fades away..than i really love e les paul..tot of getting e epiphone series but then talk my way out of it and say its no big deal having an epiphone compared to ibanez..i said to myself better wait for e moment n get e gibson straight away in e future n when i think i am at that level to own such a gtr. haha..then recently play with an epiphone explorer..like it too..but still thinking if its worth getting. So my point is tat..it doesnt matter if u use a craftman..u play n play n be at a certain level where u think u are really something..like really knowledgable abt music, technique wise, like ability to play to people's liking..ability to adapt to other musician n on e spot jamming etc..all that. And then u can think of getting a new n better gtr..for now explore with sounds n tone etc..
Like even the legends use mostly one gtr only..like eric's blackie, malmsteen fender, slash les paul, jimi's fender..they may have lots of other gtr with them..but ultimately its e one that they stick with..
Anyway its juz my opinion...but if i have e money n spending power to buy, i dun mind looking at my options..hehe for now i'll juz settle with my RG.
thank u very much!!

here's a good way to explore diff sounds if you don't want a new guitar or are quite attached to your current one: change of pickups. My 5 yr old RG became a monster after i decided to dump duncans in it recently..now looking back, the stock pickups sounded real weak and nasally!! So i sorta feel like i have a 'new' guitar, with the same old feel..

yeah dude..i wanna know too...i've always wanted to change my pickup but not too sure abt it...and yeah how much did u get it for??

Once you're no longer a beginner and u know you like guitar playing as a hobby, u should try to have:

(a) an electric
(b) an acoustic

Both make you play differently and are unique experiences ...

During this time, focus on getting your technique in place.

At the intermediate level, you can add another electric ...... you would have the experience to differentiate different elements of a guitar ... i.e. feel, SCs versus Humbuckers, fixed bridge versus floating ...etc, etc

Know what works for you and what doesn't ...

hahah...yup.thnx for the reply....think i stick to 1...and improve instead of following the crowd....and i already change the stock pickup to dimarzio distortion....and by far it sounds good...thnx guy....

8O i can relate to that! my RG1550 became a monster after installing the Screamin Demon in there & recently, it attracted another monster as a companion- proof's in the picture...

ok apoogies for digressing... but another guitar is necessary if your current squeeze cannot offer you a particular tone that you once overlook. i was using my Ibanez RG560 for about 5yrs before i got another which feature single coils exclusively. after extensive testing outs, i believe that the guitar tone has a humbucker/ single coil polemic. one cannot effectively replace the other...

It really depends on yourself me thinks. I've 3 guitars, 1 acoustic and 2 electric, I use my acoustic and my Les Paul the most, the Ibanez pretty much stays in teh case cuz I dun like the feel of it and most importantly I dun like the tone of the Ibanez, it juz ain't thick and fat enough.

I think its a good idea to get a acoustic since you already have a electric. But however if you are those really "hardcore" electric guitar only fan than you might wana consider gettin a slightly different pickup combo like a 3 x S or
H s H.

Or you can always upgrade you pickups or get some pushpull pots in there to get different tones outta ur guitar.

lol beast same here, 1 acoustic 2 electric (an epi lp and a rg).

for me well my acoustic is always by the side of my bed so when i'm bored or suddenly have the urge to play i jus pick up my acoustic and play on the bed. yeah sounds lazy but then it's quite convenient. for normal playing i use the ibanez a lot, coz it's versatile and fast. usually i play epi for alternate tuning stuff coz the floyd on the ibanez is troublesome to adjust. but still i have this thing for the sound i get on the neck pickup on my lp that i can't seem to get anywhere else, and it's also my first electric so i love it to death. and also sometimes it depends on what songs i play, not jus diff tunings but diff feels. 1 guitar is enuf if you like the tone but if you got enuf cash, a 2nd guitar won't hurt, especially if you feel your current guitar lacks something that you desperately need.

ahh enuf of my nonsense
