Hi guys

My gf has been learning how to play the guitar from me the last few months.

And i wana get her an acoustic as a surprise.

Nothing expensive budget about $200 max.

would be good if the brand has a narrower neck for her hands.

Any recommendations?

If i remember correctly, Davis has some pretty decent entry level acoustics

Davis also have Fina guitars. Pretty good for entry level. It is within your price range also.

There are the Samicks and Greg Bennetts at Davis. They have thin necks, and I find them very impressive for the price. I recommend particularly the LW-015 and the LW-028. Both should be below $200 I think.

Personally I think spending between $150-$200 for a Samick is more worth it than spending below $100 for a Congress or TGM. My Samick LW-015 has lasted over 8 years and she's still a dream to play and listen to.

You can go try out Maestro, I believe they have some student priced guitars. Haven't personally seen the prices, but same around Davis larz, worth a try.

Fina and Maestro and do a little bit more... Change the strings to a lighter gauge, so that she can learn with ease and won't give up guitar so fast cos of "dear my finger pain..."

hmmm. what about vantage frm davis. Its very decent bout 160+. it's got a pretty low action and for a 160+ dollars guitar, it sounds pretty good. i have an ibanez acoustic and a vantage and i'd rather pick up my vantage anytime.
do check them out :)

i strongly recommend the yamaha f310, its dirt cheap, and sounds great. i still play mine after 3 years
