I purchase the yamaha electric acoustic from Yuranga on 25 Nov 2011. Upon dealing at the Mrt station, I checked the guitar and realised that the volume knob was a little shaking. I asked him regarding the issue, he assured me that there wasn't any problem with the electronics/volume knob. It's just a like shaky (physical issue) but it was working perfectly fine. He seemed like a honest chap, hence I decided to gave him the trust and go ahead with the deal (Seeing that he was in a rush to go to school). I brought the guitar back after my work, plugged in and tried that night. There was problems when the connection/volume knob. Immediately informed him, but was told if I can bring to yamaha/beez to check. I wanted to asked him for a refund but I told him that I will check and let him know. Brought the guitar to a few places that 2 days and I got a quote to repair.. Which was rather high/not worth repair. I call to informed him (27 Dec) and asked for a refund from him and he got the cheek to tell me that he was not liable for any refunds.. He crafted out stories saying that he bought another takamine guitar right after he sold the guitar to me. He does not have the cash to pay. he added that he has to use his money to purchase air tickets for his holiday in Dec.. I wasnt convinced at all by his reasons. We ended our conversation with him agreeing to refund me after his holiday (15 Dec/ and I have the sms to prove). It has been a month, and I have yet to receive a call, sms or pm from him.
Things to note:
1. He told me he's studying in NUS. Which from what I read in this thread, he's not from there.
2. I didn't manage to try the guitar electronics because it was dealt at the mrt. He assured me that the electronics are working fine and if there's any problem, I can find him.
3. I informed him the moment I tried the guitar and found faults in it. Did him the favour of bringing it to a few stores to have it checked (As requested by him) But in the end, the repair was high, he wanted to pay me only a small sum and does not want to do a refund.
4. How was he possible to purchase his takamine right after the deal with me when he previously told me that he's rushing to school.. (I didn't want to ask him as it wasnt nice to do so)
5. He cooked up the story that he does not know when his holiday trip will be. And he needs the money to fund for it.. It crazy.. I informed him previously on 25 Nov night that the guitar has problems and he needs to see to it. Yet, he's telling me that he doesnt have the cash to pay me back and still have the cheek to tell me he's not going to pay me cos he's using it to fund for his holiday..
6. He told me stories which I pitied him. Telling me that he's alone in Singapore and he's going to fly back to meet his parents for holiday.. At first I didn't intend to believe him, but after he told me that he will do a refund when he's back on the 15 Dec, I gave me my trust.
7. No calls/msg/pm from him at all despite me sending him textes, calls and emails.
Well, I have learnt my lessons for trusting this soft user (Yuranga) too much.
Just to note to any guys out there, I recommend that u do not deal with him in the future. His handphone number is 90905758.
Please also do let me know what we can do with this guy. I see that many have some issues with him as of the thread above.
