Buy low and sell high

These ppl really too much.doing such things for small gains..
Whats meant to be yours is yours, whats not meant to be yours will fly away no matter what yeah?

She did prevented 1 case.

Although I'm probably gonna be using the wrong analogy. Lets say 10 people got into a freak car accident and you're a doctor. Knowing you can't save all 10, would you still at least try to save them? Even one?

You're right, we don't have the right to do anything. The least I can do if I was put in her situation is to warn other people about them. That's the least I can do. I have no right to stop any sales that will take place because the bass is already under their ownership. But I can at least tell other people to be careful when dealing with them and offer some advice in case something like this happens.

It works both ways. Unethical Seller knows that there are people watching them and Honest Sellers knows that there are buyers who will make themselves pitiful just to get discount off you. Honest Buyers will know what to look out for when they buy and Unethical Buyers will know that there are people watching them.

I get what you mean. But the reason for my longer post was not to render the entire situation hopeless.

There is nothing wrong with blowing the whistle on the seller in question. It's the way it was done, i felt the threadstarter viewed the situation in an unsuitable manner.

I donnow are we talking about the same 'srilankans' Recently, my colleague whom is also @ soft.com were contacted by a guy who wanted to sell their Fender guitar very cheap as he need money for his school fee. During the meeting, there were 2 of them claimed to be students of RP from Ceylon. Eventually, my friend saw that the guitar was certain not a fender, the only thing that says fender is the decal and back-plate. They insisted that their guitar was original and pointed that my friend lacked of knowledge. When my friend asked them to go to a guitar shop for verification, they immediately got agitated and left in the hurry.

Marking-up something for sales is a common commercial practice. The buyer/seller might have calculated the man-hour/ restring or set-up/ upgrade/ transportation etc. and its legal afterall. However it become unethical when buyer mislead seller's empathy to lower the price. I have recently bought a couple of guitars from soft.com and a few I noticed that the seller had bought the guitar earlier from another at a lower price. The basic law of trading: the higher the demand the higher the price...

But Kate.... kuddos...you meant well (GBU), next time scrutinize more careful when giving out empathy, study their truthfulness

I think the threadstarter(TS) posted this thread out of anger (which is logical if you read into it) because of the two jokers who are pulling a fast one. But guys, let's not forget the original intent of the TS. It is to highlight people who are trying to make a quick buck off innocent softies. The best advice I've seen (maybe here or elsewhere in another thread) is to take down the numbers of these jokers and save their SOFT names (and real names if you happen to know). It would be of great benefit if we could make a thread of the scammers/jokers/quick-buckers detailing the soft username, real name and contact number but then it may raise controversies and increase the number of innocent accusations. (which makes this sentence invalid and pointless so just save their numbers) ^^

yeah,Bren.very angry when i posted this thread.as long as softies here are aware of the underhanded means of these 2 Sri Lankans,i guess it will be good.u guys don't deserve to pay such prices especially the students and those on budget. They have hands/legs,want earn money go work.don't put our local musicians/budding musicians at a disadvantage bcos of ur selfishness.

I dunno about the Sri Lankans. If they deal a lot of second stuff but not a license one, you can get them into trouble by calling the police.

They are definitely not licensed.hahas.i don't see the words 'cash converters' printed on their heads or any other words suggesting they are legal 2nd hand dealers.he accused me of beinf racist on his post in the bass(buy/sell) section on today's post for Stagg B300 bass.jokes.
both of the Sri Lankans think i don't know law..zz.. i can name many sections of the Statutes, lol.

In their defense, I doubt you can get them in trouble by calling the police. They didn't sell it under a "Private Limited" or under a name. They're merely buying and selling stuff on their own. If this is illegal then a lot of Toy Collectors should be jailed. Buying Optimus Prime for $100 and selling it for $500 later when it is out of print, mint in box and etc. They're just doing a business, albeit it is a very ugly and unethical one. The only one I think can be a police case is the thread "I got cheated, I have nothing left". The seller mentioned on that thread is a fraud who sell fake products. That one can be a possible police case. I lost faith in the police so I don't know how they'll handle it. I got a greater respect for SAF than SPF but that's just me. Anyway, off topic here.

Back on topic, I'm not sure if it is possible to have a "Black Listed" list. Although I do agree we should have it. With only User ID and real name, WITHOUT phone number. This is to protect them as well, in case they get harassed (although I honestly feel that they ought to be, I mean, they can't expect to cheat someone and get away with it! How dare they!)

But will James allow the black list topic?

IF we do have a black list, think about it, some 小气鬼 kids will just put names of softies who happened to "anger" them.
Besides, once those blacklisted people are blacklisted, what if they create another account? along with fake name, another phone number etc...

just my $0.02

That is why I added the (which makes this sentence invalid and pointless so just save their numbers) ^^
Haha

You aren't wrong. But to be honest, if there's a good Softie whom we have dealt with before, won't we vouch for them?

Say Man A and I used to deal, he sold me an EFX pedal. So he's in my "good to deal list". One day, Man A encounters Kid B, Kid B is one of the "Xiao Qi Gui" you spoke of. He wasn't happy that Man A didn't lower the price and etc, then Kid B put it under Black List and whine about it. I would vouch for Man A and say that Man A was a responsible seller and etc.

But that said, anyone can create multiple account and vouch for themselves. Man C 'pretends' he had a deal with Man D, Man D post saying Man C is great. Then Man C make more false account under the name of Man E, F G and so on. Then they'll all say "Yeah, Man C is good, buy from him!" Many people can work around the system, the system is set up as a 'basic' warning system. That's just my own opinion.

I've been to some forums, VR Zone and HWZone, they up the reputation and etc and leave feedbacks for deals and transactions. Maybe we can have something like that?

The thing is the "add/plus reputation" isn't practiced anymore in SOFT. Maybe users should be educated of the star button at the bottom of each post which adds reputation to the user. Then again, when people make purchases in SOFT, they don't really care about your rep level.

[ Typical Visit-Buy-Sell-Section-Only-Forum-Users' Mentality of Reputation Level]
If it's high, well good. If it's low, duh I just want to get my item.

Feedback would be good!!! however, some people cannot take a little bit of criticism if you know what I mean, thus starting World War III...

@ Bro Brenkoh: there are those prepaid numbers very easy to get x) and now 7-11 sell those cheap $30 phones along with the prepaid card, that would be the big problem IF people knew that their numbers are being "blacklisted"

ah. just noticed x(

but its ok I guess... If they're willing to trade their credibility for $50, i don't think they'll spend that same $50 on a cheap phone.

They can use same phone, just buy new number? Haha.

So if the rating is low and the person choose to deal and get scammed...does that mean that the buyer deserves it?

Lol .. i think such things cant be prevented.. most importantly when we deal with someone, we got to be vigilant then its okay liao
haha. what a tiring day. good night guys :)

post one more ad then i go sleep liao.
