EVEN as home-grown musicians start to make an impact on the international market, a reverse trend of sorts seems to be taking hold in Singapore's expatriate community. Rather than seeking fame and fortune in their home countries, a growing number of expatriates are making their presence felt in the local music scene.

KittyWu is putting out amberhaze (aka Giulianno)'s album in August, I think? I heard some tracks. Pretty eclectic instrumental stuff. Ambient and rocking at times. Definitely a stronger effort than the debut EP.

Derek Wisdom's stuff is free for download at his website: www.derekwisdom.com. He does some noise improv and sound art stuff. Some of it is pretty interesting. He's a Battlestar Galactica fan so it can't be all bad...
