BSOD!

What Error is it? Try booting your comp with a Windows XP CD and run a recovery.. If it doest work then you'll have to use /chkdsk and all that stuff

Happened to my previous computers before. Something about the blue screen that freaks me out! Fortunately my current laptop never kena (yet).

Also got white screen of death in SE phones. :D

i get that too!

damn irritating.... then it begins to dump physical memory... whatever that means....

yes, depends on what the error code is, if it suddenly pops up,
possible causes :
1) your Operating System is corrupted.
2) some virus/spyware thing is making your comp crash
3) hardware error, PCI card related.
4) CPU (overheat)
5) Ram faulty
6) mainboard faulty/unstable
7) cheapo/faulty power supply making mainboard unstable or even both.
8) hard disk faulty

solutions :
1) reinstall windows
2) reinstall windows.
3) take out all PCI cards. see if it still crashes. put them back one by one to ensure working condition
4) go BIOS check cpu temperature. check see if cables are stuck in your cpu fan screwing up cooling process. try replace cpu with a friend's temporarily to test.
5) if it's kingston lifetime warranty, bring to www,convergent.com.sg albert complex.
6 & 7) to be honest this is one of the hardest. sometimes mainboard appears to be working fine and it's the power supply problem, by the time you replaced the power supply with a good one, the cheap one has already damaged the old one. happened to me before.
8) , run a diagnostic check such as western digital's. watch out (Hear) for weird noises and abnormal high temperatures.

welcome to my world for the past 10 years.
have fun troubleshooting...

5000¢ worth (that's the market price for comp tech troubleshooting)

The other question is: what changes happened to your PC recently just prior to seeing the BSOD? Did you install any software? Did you add any new hardware? This will help us narrow things down a little.

BSOB is the computer's way of saying that you've been looking at too much porn on th net..
As much as we love jokes, the truth is:

BSOD is Microsoft's (not "computer's") way of saying "You just got PWNED. Go spend some more money on me biatch!"

Insufficient system memory (RAM) is yet another culprit. A lot of my clients' PCs are sent to me due to that, yes, RAM-no-enough (for the tasks they are carrying out). I'm always surprised how they are on M$ Win XP with 64MB of an SD SIMM module! Going with Moore's law in parallel, as costs double, demands for better codes and applications double. Better codes and more features + ease-of-use - simplicity = fatter applications = more memory hungry.

The internet has become a good place for troubleshooting computers. Why? You get it solved for free :o Market rate now has depreciated to $30, sad to say. To think a few years back it was $80 including on-site diagnostics.

Use the following to check ur hardware setup: Everest &/or CPU-Z

Do a memtest. The error code and details of the BSOD are significant if you want to troubleshoot. In some cases the HDD is the least of concerns while in others it is the primary cause (bad IDE connectors).
