BOSS OD3 VS EHX Big Muff

ODB-3 vs EHX Big Muff are 2 different types of distortions on its own.
You might want to go swee lee and blackwood to hear both out and decide.

Big Muff is a fuzz pedal which I reckon has more chainsaws in terms of signal compared to ODB-3.
Currently I am using Bass Big Muff Pi, and it does enough for my band.
If you are looking for more boost and fuzz, check out zvex maestotron.

I have the ODB3, it's a fuzz alright.

I like the effects as it blends well with my church band for some tunes. i dont use it all the time though - in fact it's mostly used as a solo-boost, when i dialed-down the distortion.

My ODB-3 is unbearably noisy, even with gain at 0. Might be just my box. The separate high/low EQ is useful, as is the blend control (full dry to full wet).

I was lucky to find a polish love on classifieds and I use that for light dirt. Heavier stuff gets a mastotron.

OP asked about OD3, which, as sub has said, has no fuzz overtones at all. But yes the ODB-3 is fizzy

Hi Guys Thanks for the advices man, i currently own a Big Muff, i personally feel that it might have a nicer distortion sound as compared to ODB3 ... But when i include it with the rest of my pedals ... it simply does not blend well ... Like Cray Baby bass wah and Steel Leather ... Anyone have the same problem ?

drive/muff/distortion units don't go too well with wah. i find lower levels of drive/fuzz/distortion to yield better tone when paired with a wah, regardless of bass/ guitar applications.

if you wish for a mild drive voicing, check this one out:

Use a Bass Big Muff with separate wet/dry outputs to have more control over your sound and experiment with different order of effects like mentioned.

Parallel processing of wet/dry bass works wonders

if you're looking for something that works with a wah, you might want to consider a synth pedal instead. the sb7 does a decent distortion+autowah sound.
