Hi, anyone out there own a Boss GT-8? Cos i am thinking of buying one.
Need you guys for comment s and review of this. Thks.

well,i've been using for almost 1 and a half years and it hasn;t failed me. Built to last definitely. You may need to do some tweaking to get what you one.i think boss gt 8 is worth it.

But getting seperate pedals seem to have its own benefits.haha.

If you really looking to have everything ( pedals wise )in one gear. GT8 awesome deal. Only negative is that its heavy and tweaking wise alittle confusing but once you get the hang of it,no more worries!

just my 1 cent.=)

GT8 is a two thumbs up. alone as a effect. and if u add up some analogs to it! its even better. you can check out my vids at Open Mic section. under simon lai, DT cover as well as Neil zaza's cover. brilliant sound.

P.S: no self promoting here. but jus to share and see if it helps u better to fig how good it sounds. but of cuz, with Gt8 u reall gotta sit down and tweak. Theres a forum tht helps pple whu jus got their GTs, as there are a bunch of helpful info there to get u started. if i am not wrong its called GTcentral. go check it out.! hope it helps!

thks guys. i prefer to use analog single pedal but play in pub kinda troublesome. so thinking of getting a multi effects board. lost track on digital processor. i did consider line 6 pod x3 live, then just don like tat kind of digital sounding.

My GT-8 has me hooked. Built like a tank (true BOSS!), and loaded with features. If you want all the famous boss pedals for a fraction of the price, this is it.
Downside is, there is a learning curve to the box (personally I think its worth the time invested) and second, its not a light piece of equipment. But if you want all those effects, you would anyway have to lug around a bunch of pedals and wires on a pedal board, so I don't see this as much of downside. If anything, its kinda compact ;)

I've been through a bunch of pedals before settling on this. Now all I need is this and my RC-2. Simple and sweet I say!

Actually the new pod x3 live is not really sound digital and amp simulations are gd. To me, the distortion effects sounds more heavier and nicer tha gt8. Of course its depends on each individual preferences. =)

gt8 is really the bomb, i dont find the need to engage the overdrive/distortion effects anymore, the gain on the preamps alone is enough. and when i use dual stereo preamps and set the pre delays around 6-8ms, i also dont find the need to use even a touch of chorus. just add a bit of reverb or delay and its all done...

i agree to to what you've said. i also enjoy using just the preamps! i'm using GT-8 since it came out to asian market. honestly, i havnt used all it's features. so many...:D

the gt10 is like two gt8s on steriods... the loop function alone is worth the upgrade...
just imagine, dual stereo preamps each with its own mfx routings L/R...
with a clean tone... on the left u can engage an auto filter/wah and on the right a cosm crybaby emulation controlled by the pedal... and use it on the song.... taaddaa!!! naughty girl by beyonce!!! hahahaha... kidding... =)

Well, let's be practical here. I considered and tried both and if you're like me, I mean I dun play in a pub but from what I gather,

1) You play cover materials and you play for a living or for beers
2) You need something simple and hassle free
3) You're playing to an audience who are not SOFTies who's gonna come to you after your set and complain that it sounds err....." digital lah!" or "not enough meat lah!" or something to that extent......

...then go for the Pod XT or X3 as it's so easy to use and sounds very decent. You can even find custom tones that match what song you're playing that night and download it's patches into the device. Press the button and voila! You're playing a tone very close to the song you cover. No major tweaking necessary and no hassle. You only have to concentrate on the other MORE important things like what your fingers do and of course, the most important thing in any gig...... how you emotionally move your audience...

But don't take my word for it..... try both..... you will know what I mean...

And oh by the way..... GT10 is already out ah...... so that you'll know.

Peace....I'm outta here!

well after yrs of using gt8... lolx... i find it easy to use... but only after yrs.... WAHAHAHAHAHA....
but well.. the tone u get from it is definetly worth the headache of figuring how to use it...
