hey softies, i need ur experiences to help me if i shld buy a BOSS GT-10.It has almost EVERYTHING!.. but the thing is.i play mainly death metal and metalcore mostly.. so i want tt heavy song like arch enemy, trivium, etc. Will it be worth it to buy one?

well, for death metal and metalcore, distortion is most important, the other modulations aint really necessary, all u need is a nice dist, maybe just get a high end single dist pedal rather than the gt-10, maybe a tuner at the side for tuner and maybe a noise suppressor to cancel out the extra hum??

pedals i would recommend
dist : metal muff with top boost, mt2 modded, amt du hast, landmine dist, sansamp gt-2
tuner: ibanez lu20, boss tu2, korg dt-10
noise suppressor: boss ns-2, ehx hum debugger, isp decimator

hope this helps :)
overall, these 3 pedals + a small pedalboard would definitely cost lesser than a gt-10 and have real awesome analog tone

hey wayne tnx alot for ur advice.u noe alot bout stomboxes i'll tell u tt.
u see i play other stuff too and make originals which i wanna use those awesome effects in my songs.just that i play more of death.
anyways so if i buy the 3 pedals +baord = $400+??..jsut a guess
and if i buy a gt-10 it'll be like $650?
(the prices ontop are based on wad's online:D)
so i add a feww hundred dollars more.. i can get a whole lot more worth like 20 pedals..lol..
But ur suggestion's great neways..and u might wanna add Digitech's metal master to ur reconmended list of dist pedals.. it's one hell of a dist pedal suitable for guiatrworks by trivum, children of bodom, megadeth, metallica, arch enemy.it got this morph nob and it's really gd..

oh!! a gt-10 costs 650 only? i didnt know, anyway, the total amount of the pedals + pedalboard i recommend would be around 550..
actually i havent tried the gt-10, not really a fan of multi efx, but if the dist in it is good then why not.. ive seen alot of good local metalcore bands not use any effects, or use multi efx before..
haah, anyway if ur looking for those weird modulation effects, maybe u can check out the line 6 mm4, then add it all together.. but that one costs quite a bit though, but the modulation tones in it are really good..

yea i did quite alot of hw..did the video watching and all.. once this thread is done and i'm ahppy enough to buy one, it's time to start saving money.. lol. but first! have to go to test the product.. off to swee lee den..adios!

Get a Digitech Death Metal pedal (or equivalent) for less than 100 bucks that's poratble enough to be carried anywhere and put through any amp in any studio that you might be jamming in, and it will still sound metal (whether it's a good tone or not.. that's subjective preference)

If you are even looking at the GT-10, you are just attracted to the novelty of owning one, which, IMHO, is just silly.

hmmz.. i think let him be the one tat decide... he is asking stuffs about GT10.. so let us just ans wat he needs to know about it.. :)...

u know wad guys.. the best is i'll just bring my guitar over to a guiatr shop and test the gt-10 and see if i really like it or not and whether it's worth buying.Cause the thing is.. in the future i don wanna buy single pads of reverb, delay, whammy, etc. when i need it. so if i get the gt-10, whenever i need those effects i'll jsut need my fingers to push the buttons or turn the knobs of the gt-10.. but the quality of those effects is smt i dunno about so i'll jsut go to a guitar shop and test the thing.if it's not heavy enough.. i'll jsut get another dist pedal reconmended by u softies perhaps 2gether with the gt-10.;)

hmm, since ur checking out gt-10, how about checking out line6 podxtlive, podx3live, korg toneworks 1500G,3000G and vox tone lab??
all really great pedals too.. after swee lee, maybe u could head to citymusic and give those a try :)

yeah, city music's stuff can get really cheap when they are on sale, not sure whether on sale now though, if ur not in a hurry maybe can start saving up money now, then when got sale then go buy.. anyway, u play deathcore? u got a band?

Currently they have a sale I believe, for Vox and Line6 products.

I would get either a Line6 X3 LIVE, or Vox Tonelab LE with the Boss GT-10 sorta price tag... Then again its preferential... Hahaha...

*edit* just went through a rough search on the gt-10, quite rock solid features, and if it features efx that it sells as individual units (eg. mt-2 model), i believe this is also a good mefx pedal to acquire. Tonelab LE probably something if you're fussy about tubey sound (heck it if you have a tube amp).
