bosphorus rides are orgasmic! along with istanbul traditionals and alchemy rides... i really regretted selling off my alchemy ride.beboptang said:Hi, not sure if you are still checking this site... but I have a Bosphorus Trad Masters 22" too! Yeah, it's great for jazz. But I also use it for recordings or big outdoor concerts, when I need a really great orchestral cymbal swell. Don't you just love the way it's so thin and bendable, hence the sound is warm and dark. I LIKE!!
I bought mine when I was living in the US; and it cost the same (after converting US$ to S$) as buying it here from Accent. So that's good to know. I also looked into buying them from a music store in Istanbul, Turkey and it's not worth it, cuz the selection is kept in some dingy attic storage space, it's really dusty and their selection is limited. Hope to head that way again and visit the factory itself.![]()
i haven't really tried out any bos hats, but from opinions from those who have, they painted a really good picture of it!blurred said:hey man, funny thing i didn't quite like the hat bos had. i got a sabian hhx manhattan tht i just got that i freaking love! very crsip and thin!
yah my trad 22 bos is has a really wonderful tone, only think is i wish it had more definition, it tends to wash too easy
beboptang said:hey, the Istanbul Trad Hats (Mel Lewis) are really nice. Thin, Crisp and the sound produced when played real soft and with your feet, is definitely gratifying. And I also find that when you play them semi-open it's got a nice trashy wash... great for recordings![]()
