i am upgrading the stock pups on my ibanez sa220, i have a bill lawanrence
l-500Regular on hand. planing to compliment is with either a
dimarzio air norton or duncan jazz for the neck pup.
Would the dimarzio be too hot to compliment the l-500R?
would the output diffrence be too big?
or rather should i use the l-500R for the neck and get a hotter pup for the bridge? As i heard the l-500R is quite weak as compared to the l-500XL.
for the latter option i plan to get a dimarzio steve's speical or
duncan custom custom. i play a fusion varity of stuff, blues, jazz and metal
Please adive on my delima guys.

How to explain fire is hot, unless you get burnt ones !

Thumb rule for two hum guitar >>> Bridge pup should be hotter than neck !!

problem is i cant guage the 'hottness' of the BL pups. the BL sites does not provide the specifications like output and voltage etc of thier pups.

You have the stock pups in your SA?

Why don't you get enough $ to buy either the Dimarzio Air Norton or SD Jazz then go install the BL first. Then compare to your neck pup. It would be easy to see if the BL can handle a hotter neck pup or needs a lower output neck pup... and its easier for a tech to just measure the power of your stock ibanez neck pup.

Once done and you figured it out, walk down to buy the neck pup of your dreams. :)
