BGW Guitars

Dunno if Brandon is the boss or not, or GM or anyway...never met or interact with him before. But my bassist bought a Fender Bass from him, said Brandon's service is awesome. Brandon also gave him a V Pick to try because my bassist said he never tried it. My bassist's friend also bought a Taylor from him.

So I have heard of good stories about him, don't worry about things being fake, I doubt it is. If it is, you'll hear the awesome stories like those you hear about some of the other stores.

Dear Friends,

Thank you for your exceptionally kind words.

We are indeed partnering with Swee Lee to bring about a new retail experience.

SL's Bras Basah outlet is undergoing a facelift and will soon house a full range of Fender, Gibson and Ibanez guitars. We are now able to offer prices pegged even closer to USA with the close support and blessings of our suppliers. You can now expect one of the lowest (if not the lowest) prices in town across all Swee Lee branches :)

Do bear with us while we ramp up to speed. Meanwhile here are teasers of the new outlet at Peninsula Shopping Complex #B1-14 !

Boss pedals & Dimarzio pickups at never-seen-before prices !

I bought a guitar from Brendon on October 2012. Yes, his service is 100% superb.

However, I found that this guitar has fret buzzing issue so I sent it to BGW for setting up action and Tonerite treatment.
I just get my guitar back from BGW's Surath Godfrey. On the spot I found that my strings (Elixir Ph-Br Nanoweb) suffered some minor damage. I told him but unbelievable he claimed that "This strings already old. Strings need regular replacement. Maybe you should replace it for another one more month". In the end he requested me to go back.
Come on, this Elixir strings is brand new (Bought on October) before I sent it back to BGW !!
In addition, when I take it back I found a small ding on my guitar's headstock...
Why customer service from Surath Godfrey is so bad ? Please don't try to pass the buck !!

It is not strings rust.

In addition, the fret buzzing issue still there. They only help me lower down the guitar action.

In all fairness to Godfrey.

There were no mentions of the ding or buzz during the 30 minutes at the store or the days after collection until this post. I believe Godfrey would have provided assistance had he at least been notified. We do however admit that our procedures are flawed as we typically don't check a guitar thoroughly when we take in a guitar (we have alot of goodwill for our customers), hence our offer of a new replacement for our lack of thoughtfulness on this front.

The free "tone-riting" service we provide to all our customers will naturally wear off the polymer coat on elixir strings. It is normal for coated strings as the 72 hour treatment simulates actual playing. I believe Godfrey had deliberated this politely as well.

It is however perhaps our fault for not informing customers prior to the treatment hence we'll gladly compensate with new replacements. The suggestion to keep the strings (despite showing signs of wear) was made as they still sounded great and need not be wasted. Godfrey suggested keeping another month as Elixirs typically last 3 months with good tone and you mentioned your purchase was made in Oct. It was a comment for your cost-savings and bore no malice.

It is also interesting to know that Godfrey had rescheduled a few appointments so you could have a full 30 mins to run through the guitar despite arriving late past closing time.

While we are not perfect. I do think this man tried his best and deserves perhaps some goodwill and respect :)

Are they still in business? I've tried emailing them for a week trying to order a few sets of strings, but no response so far.
