Best way to amplify Edrums?

I have just recently purchased a Roland TD-3 e-drumset and i'm wondering what is the best way recommended to amplify. At the moment I am simply using headphones with a mono adapter. The volume is extremely soft and unsatisfying. I have been told that i can go with a DI box or buy a drum monitor. Which one is better value for money and perhaps someone with experience can let me know what they use? thanks

I've been told that a keyboard amp will work very well with e-drums. I hook mine up with a bass amp. Works fine. I've tried using 3 piece computer speakers (with subwoofer) and it sounded decent as well.

maybe u can try using a stereo adapter, i have a td3 too. use a stereo adapter and some cheap earphones. sound decent, not soft, and don't disturb any of my family members. i think most speakers would do. from computer speakers to high end guitar/bass/keyboard amps, it all sounds quite decent maybe the more expensive would give u different sound qualities. depends on ur budget and what u want bah :D ..

I would immediately reccomend the Waferdale Titan 12 powered speaker. It has a rating of 250W and can more than handle the drums while producing a sweet and life-like tone as well. I bought this speaker for my SPD-20 after auditioning speakers in the similar price range, such as the Yamaha A12s. I have also tried using my Peavey KBA100 100W keyboard amp and I think the sound gets rather sluggish with the drums. I remember a musician telling me never to plug in line instruments like keyboards and e-drums into bass/electric guitar amps. Don't quite know why, though.

Feel free to come down to my place to hear how the titan 12 sounds like with my SPD-20. Or, better still, you can go down to city music and have a listen yourself. I think the powered Titan-12 costs about $500++?

Just my two cents....
