Best luthier or repairman in Singapore?

And you get nasty surprises along the way, like $25 input jacks, 'mislabeled' pickups and a 'new' neck. If I wanted good workmanship and price was not issue, I would choose Malcolm in an instant, GC is not the first thing that pops into my mind.

And nice to see you back, van_halen.

Damnnn, i paid around that price too for an input jack last time at a certain shop too :(

Hey METALFREAK & ALL DUDEs,

I'm not sure if he's D BEST, but he took out the whole neck on my guitar n re-pitch it. I guess a few loose inlays is not a problem for him.

I'd just replied to the following link n since I saw this thread, I thought I mights well chip in.

This guy KC is too good to be missed. S$250 for a neck reset. It's ~300-500 USD (might includes hidden cost) not including postage & Handling if the Luthier is in another state.
You guys with neck problems (acoustic or Gibson electric set neck) better hurry before he revise the charge. S$250 for a neck reset (read my lips) is K-E-R-A-Y-Z-Y.

tabok, thread/topic title is, 'in Singapore', right? not 'Johor Bahru, Malaysia, or anyway else, right?

GC will be my last option. They can do wonders but a lot of original parts from your guitar can sometimes go amiss if you know what I mean. ;)

Let me know what is wrong with your guitar. I am qualified enough to fix as a hobby. I have many Fender Strats, Teles, Yamaha and Ibanez that I fixed myself and some re-wired to sound better. I buy and fix pickups for friends too for only $30 for all pickups per guitar.

Dear Softies and Guitar Connection staff,

I have already checked with my friend who said that his guitar was 'amiss' about something and original parts. And in fact it was not Guitar Connection or GC at all, it was some place called The Guitar Works or some other shop. Because of this, I am being in the line of fire. I have just read through almost all of the thread, and I am sincerely sorry and wish to truly apologise on this forum about the completely Baseless comment onto this thread and above all to Guitar Connection. It was all over some drinks and my friend and I were discussing. So I must have overlooked that conversation and said a "no brainer" one liner. My earlier comment was completely baseless about GC and I apologise.

One Thousand and 1 apologies

Miza from Guitar77, every guitar i've sent there has never failed to impress upon job completion.

Speaking from personal experience, I'd highly recommend Malcolm Tan for setup/nut replacements/fixes etc., and Beez for electronics!

With regards to this thread, anyone has any experience dealing with both Jarvis and Adam from guitaringpassionately.com? Abit indecisive here on which to send my acoustic guitar to.

Tried Jarvis and Malcolm.

Kept going back to Jarvis with my guitar a few times for set up, couldn't get it right.

Malcolm for my choice. better playability, better tone that I get from my acoustic.

Price point and quality of service Malcolm is more worth the deal IMO.
