Best guitarist you've seen in Singapore?

oh singapore has talent alright. just let some of them join a famous international band and u'll see them perform up to standard with the best in the world.

guitarist Dave Wee

Many of you may not know Dave Wee, but he was the most accomplished and technically the most brilliant guitarist I met ever met, and studied under for a brief period, before he left for his PHD Studies in Jazz Performance in Perth. Before leaving for Perth, Dave taught at Yamaha Music School and performed at the Saxophone Bar.

If you ask many of the famous names that you guys mentioned, they were all in awe of Dave's virtuoso and his dedication to the music of Jazz. In that category, none of them could ever come close. Even the great Martin Taylor was impressed when he listened to Dave play.

Dave passed away at a tender age of 45 in 2002 in Perth (correct me if I'm wrong), at his prime, leaving behind a wife and young daughther.

I spent a lot of time with Dave and his family before he died. I saw him from when he was healthy and normal to his last days. It's sad.

He didn't die in Perth. He died in Adelaide. We were both attending the Elder conservatory of the University of Adelaide then. Dave was indeed a master in harmony. His mind was filled with complex harmonic possibilities which he freely and selflessly shared.

More importantly, as a person, he was filled with passion and love. He is greatly missed indeed.

What did you two guys do? Pay each other to officially compliment each other lol
Well...it's just an honest opinion only. Me no need compliment...still learning how to play the guitar lah. Since still no good, now very good with meddling the guitar until no sound liao!

But again, I'm talking about versatility. fgl's the man!! No need to fake about it. See how he play during live shows, you'll see what I mean.
