Best amp fr distorted tones?

heys , just wanna start planning my savings budget

and i need some recommendations on these amp stuff , i think marshall amps are like very common ... they are good .. but i want something unique tt aces the distorted tones

MESA BOOGIE DUAL RECTIFIER, dont get from bentley though, their the sweelee of malaysia. Their mesa boogie prices are exhorbitant.

Kranks are way too expensive for now.. Peavey XXX is awesome but also in the slightly pricey range. It all depends on the amout of distortion you are looking for and the genre of music you are playing. Sometimes with a little tweaking of the amps plus some distortion stompboxes, you may achieve your desired tone without blowing a hole in your pocket.

peavey windsor is a good candidate in the on-board distortion league.but their cleans are pretty terrible.

OT: i've been listening to VH's past & current songs- i like his Marshall tone better... but we have our preferences

his Marshall tone = legendary brown sound
nevertheless this 5150 III is a monster amp

the brown sound is often one of the most emulated tones in the industry but tone is a very subjective, IMO, same set-up,different players=different tone.

probably need to sell my car to buy that amp..hehehe

i liek the framus cobra

from what i've heard, the 5150 III doesnt have that same pissed off growl you get from an original 5150 when it comes to high gain metal tones and is somewhat a little looser sounding.

channel 2 is power!but channel 3 sounds wierd maybe he doesnt know how to use it..

To be honest, because you'd definitely need cleans here and there, I'd recommend you get an amp that excels in cleans / mild overdrive, and plug in a high-gain distortion pedal like perhaps a Digitech Metal Master or a Boss MT-2 Metalzone. You get the best of both worlds... But of course get a good distortion pedal. A cheap one won't do your tone any good, and might degrade the tone of the amp if it isn't true-bypass.

I'm generalizing here but:

Randall makes high gain amps as well.

stay away from Fender and u'll be fine, they have awesome cleans though...

Kranks have terrible cleans and their high-gain might be too high for some.
