bending causes ring

sometimes when I bend like 2 frets or more my fingers will touch the other strings and causes them to ring.
i used to solve this by placing my index on the other strings when bending with my "ring or middle finger". but I would like to know whether there is a better way?
someone please help.. thanks :o

1) dont bend
2) slide instead of bend
3) continue to mute adjacent strings
4) pull down string instead of pushing up
5) dont bend
7) bend under adjacent string with adjacent string muted with any fingers not doing anything
8 ) use whammy if got whammy
9) practice make perfect
10) dont bend

to be used accordingly and to individual discretion

is it caused by other strings or is the ringing from the string you're bending? if it's from the string you're bending most probably u have uneven frets... however, since you've said the ringing is from the other strings.. practice i guess. heh

Your approach is perfectly valid. Also, bend a little slower and try to palm mute the top strings whenever possible.

Keep practicing. It is perfectly possible to bend without muting the adjacent strings.

The key is to not move your fingertip up or down (vertically), while in contact with the adjacent strings. I dunno how to explain it clearly in words... hope u get the idea. :)

Focus on dampening the other strings with your picking hand.

I find that high action makes bending more cumbersome as well.
