beginner

i second pooo's opinion. a beginner can play a beginner's guitar or a pro's guitar, and probably it'd sound just the same to him anyway because of undeveloped ears and poor control, like how hard to pluck a string, how hard to fret, how much pressure to do a palm mute to get what type of "zzzhhgg zzzhhgg" sound.

similarly a pro could play both types of guitar too, and probably will like the pro guitar because it will produce better sound quality.

a simple illustration would be acoustic guitars, the solid wood kind and the plywood kind. when you strum on a solid wood, the sound resonates very well. and it will resonate realli realli very well when the wood is seasoned. this kind of sound is something you'll never get from a plywood guitar, which is the cheaper end of the spectrum and probably considered beginner's guitar.
