Beginner wanting to learn drum

hmmm...now i got a metronome and i am praticing on my hand storke....kind of improve using this metronome as guidance. But it seem like the dbl bass stork still going wild ...OUT OF CONTROL!!!!

Do you all notice one thing...this topic is having the second highest viewer but the posting it so little.....Guys! share you ideal leh!!

Pedal settings also plays an important role..
Whether u set the beater, the tension, etc... its all ur personal comfort. For eg; Raymond Herrera plays with ultra-tight tension spring.. and he plays Fear Factory songs precisely. I can't imagine myself playing his pedals.

As for me, I play barefoot. Better grip, better control.. But remember,"One man's meat is another man's poison."

Just try to set ur pedal to ur liking.

Ciaoz!!

No problem Bro.. I had the same problem when I started drumming too. I started out the same way just like any drummer here. Play blindly without knowing what I'm playing or how to play it. Eventually, my form dropped. So I started a self-reflection and found out that the mistake did not lies on the equipment but on me myself.

But during those teenage years, 93-96, I couldn't afford to even buy myself a decent pedal so I had to make do with those studios' pedals that comes with different varieties of settings, blah,blah.. This frustrates me and eventually when I had enough cash, I bought myself a Pearl P-200 Power Shifter Double pedal which I'm using till today and tweaked on the settings to find the perfect one.

I'm still having this uncertainty about upgrading to the latest Eliminator... Should I or shouldn't I... Hmmmmm!!!

i dun think it really matters. a high end dbl pedal provides the drummer with ease of use as far as i know. and more control and stability. also more versatile in a sense.

*love my iron cobras*

anyway make it into an acceptable volume for the neighbours?
maybe something slightly softer than a piano?

HDB really cannot make it ar drums going that loud with the cymbals crashing here and there.....
it's like hammering on the wall everyday man. your neighbours will go beserk one day.

erm.. since when was the volume of acoustic pianos tolerable? i could never stand that kinda of volumes even if it's well played..
sometimes ppl just dun have the mood to hear anything. need peace.. :p

but anyway, want acceptable volumes? i think e-kits or practice pads volume are ok. mesh heads also can.

hmm?

the studio not visible.from outside.i jux went there just now.haha...ok.thx soft.

yea...rarely see studios use good equipment nowadayz...let alone a yamaha stage custom...woot.

the diff between instruments are: Melodic, Rhythmic

Most brasswinds n string instruments are melodic.so ppl can bear with it.

Rhythmic...drums...percussion...ppl cant bear with it, for 1 reason being if we are not rhythmic n not groovy enuff.

haiz...

drumset greenlight...$$$ still red light

PS: almost all shops ( swee lee, ranking sports, music theme , luther ) hav ran out of stock...only way is online...i wonder if www.massmusic.net ship to singapore...
