Yeap, just went there last saturday for the first time. Really a nice place! The air con is so freaking cold! :lol:

huh.... how come chinese frends dun like...
My band is multi racial but we used to jam at beat merchants.... Maybe, the place is full of indian food and malay food.... no chinese food, have to walk to bencoolen street.

i think its bcos they have problems with the amps.

Actually,i got to admit beat merchant is my personal favourite studio to jam,am not in anyway related to their management.
Reasons are:
1) friendly staff
2) i dunno bout people smoking in the studio,but my band dont smoke when jam.
3)Convenient.Bugis is next to Cityhall.
4) Discussing about band's stuff in indian muslim restaurant is quite a cool idea better than Hawker centres or crowded Macdonalds at bugis.
Reasons are:
1) friendly staff
2) i dunno bout people smoking in the studio,but my band dont smoke when jam.
3)Convenient.Bugis is next to Cityhall.
4) Discussing about band's stuff in indian muslim restaurant is quite a cool idea better than Hawker centres or crowded Macdonalds at bugis.

slots given away at BM
not my fav place.
they did not have a proper keyboard amp which doesnt do the korg syth they had justice. the piano and organ and even strings sounds distorty and sharp. used to jam there frequently but things didnt change.
once they even had the cheek to give my slot to somebody else because they claim i did not answer their call "to confirm if i am coming".
1. who, in singapore, calls up their customers b4 the jam to" confirm attendence"????, if u realli know any , well i would say great service! PROVIDED IF U REALLI CALLED. i checked my HP. no miss calls. and they had my correct hp no. i asked how many times they called and they hesitated b4 saying" a few".
2. if u made a mistake, admit it, dont lie that u called when u didnt. my frend reached the studio b4 me ard 7.45 ( i booked it for 8 pm) and told me that the slot i booked was taken by another band. i called up BM myself again and was told by the guy to call another no. i called that other no. and another guy told me that he tried to call me but cannot get through. he never even apologised for giving away the slot, but he lied about calling when he didnt. that realli sucks man. he did promise to give us 2 free hours. when i ask how am i going to know if i will be promised the 2 hours ,he said "oh i wil tell my guys yr name, he will remember and give u free time the next time u jam" yea right. wat a great way to promise yr clients. i bet if i go back there now i will get into another dispute cos they prob wun rem my name. this was way back in Jan. at least have the sincerity to write it down or offer a time slot .
3. and seems that i am not the only one. had frends who were given free hours also becos if jaming slots being given away.
well thats in the past. i do hope they had better kb amps and more organised booking now. usually i dont whine but when i recall how our jaming was almost cancelled i felt pissed. :evil:
had to get this off my chest. i know many people love theplace, yea. everything else's cool. nothing against BM but mistakes dont go unnoticed. if u wronged, bad wrod will spread. i just hope they will be more meticulous and responsible in future.
